Application to study in Poland

Poland has two main intakes:

  • Winter intake: October – applications usually accepted from April to August;
  • Summer intake: March – applications usually accepted from November to January

1. Entry Requirements

a. Bachelor’s Degree

  • Completed high school (secondary education);
  • Programs taught in Polish: Polish language certificate issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language;
  • Programs taught in English: IELTS 6.0 or above;
  • Gap year of no more than 2 years.

b. Master’s / Doctoral Degrees

  • Completed a recognized university degree with a good or excellent academic standing (GPA from 7.0/10);
  • Programs taught in Polish: Polish language certificate from the State Commission for Certification;
  • Programs taught in English: IELTS 6.5 or above;
  • Work experience (some universities require at least 1 year).

2. Required Documents for Application

Depending on each applicant’s background, the university may request additional documents. However, the most common documents required for studying in Poland include:

  • Highest academic diploma;
  • Academic transcripts / grade reports of the last 2 years;
  • Completed application form;
  • 4 passport-sized photos;
  • Passport;
  • English proficiency certificate.

If applying for Master’s / Doctoral programs, the following are also required:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  • Two letters of recommendation;
  • Personal statement;
  • Research proposal – required for research-based Master’s or PhD programs;
  • Published research papers – if applying for research-based Master’s or PhD programs.

3. Application Process

  • Submit application documents to the university;
  • University reviews the application and issues a conditional offer with deposit requirements;
  • Student pays the tuition deposit;
  • University issues the official acceptance letter and confirms receipt of payment;
  • Students prepare necessary documents for the student visa application.
